Part number 151X1207DG06SA01 is a BLOWER MODULE designed for GE-EX2100 control systems used in power generation applications.

These fans are critical to safe and reliable AVR operation, with an OEM recommendation to replace every four years or less.

AP4 Group’s controls team has developed a repair solution and holds an inventory of exchange EX2100 exciter fans. This repair consist of a rewound motor and a replacement RPM sensors on the used fan to restore to original functionality.

The typical EX2100™ contains two sets of three fans each. The first set extracts air from the cabinet and blows it into the second set. The second set blows the air into the environment. Each fan has an RPM sensor that is monitored by the turbine control system. When the RPM is below a certain value, this sensor alarms the system that the fan is not running. There is also a high temperature alarm and trip based on the temperature inside the cabinet. The OEM recommends replacement of the fans every four years, and more often if the temperature exceeds 40°C [104°F].

Since 2021, AP4 has seen a significant number of failures of the exciter fans¹, with over 60 repaired fans currently in operation. EX2100 fan repairs are offered either on a single repair basis or through a multi-fan exchange. Many of our clients opt for a preventative maintenance strategy by exchanging their fans prior to failure and/or maintaining an inventory of spares.
